Conversion rate optimization (CRO) is a set of processes and methods that are used to analyze the performance of the website. As a field of research, CRO mixes different disciplines, such as marketing, quantitative analysis, psychology and design to create an optimal website experience and increase the chance of visitor converting.
Methods commonly used are experimenting with the content, analyzing the traffic, analyzing the content and the design of the website. CRO methods are used when the owner of an e-commerce website wants to extract more revenues from their existing customers instead of drawing new customers to the website.
