Descriptive Statistics

Descriptive statistics are used with larger volumes of information to put it all in a uniform presentation for the purpose of being able to see everything at one time.

Graphs and charts are used to portray the statistics and descriptions are given to each category. This will show an average or mean across the spread of the information as well as act as a simple way to note differences in the information.

They could be organized in any way, such as to show the highest score out of 100 applicants on a given test or to group data by subject matter such as alphabetical or numerical.
